Review of the Mary Kay eye primer.. Better than Urban Decay?

Hi everyone, I recently became a Mary Kay consultant. Why? Because I loved the skincare line. It has done wonders for my skin. I use the miracle set, and it has made my skin smoother and much softer. I have used any drug store line from Neutrogena to Olay to even organic products. For the last 10 years I have been trying to find a great skincare line (since I was 14) and the Mark Kay line has pulled me right in. But anyways today is about the eye primer.

(Picture used from the Mary Kay website)

Now for the last two years I have been using Urban Decay Primer Potion. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing product, but since I started to sell Mary Kay, I decided to give this a try. WOW, I am in love.

That's the tube and what it looks like under the cap.
The primer is white in color. I did put a little too much here but just to show what it looks like.
When rubbed in, it is invisible.

With primer is on the bottom part of my hand, and without is on top. I used the SAME amount of eyeshadow for sides. Though without the primer I did press a bit harder to try to get it to show up a bit better. As you can tell it smooths and evens out more with the primer.

With primer is on the right, while without primer is on the left.

What primer does is it makes your makeup last longer, and of course helps use less makeup. I feel with the UD it did a good job, but toward the end of the day it would come off quicker than the Mary Kay. If I were to work out and sweat, I noticed the makeup did come off with the Urban Decay, but lasted longer with the Mary Kay.

For me, I am sold on the Mary Kay. It's also cheaper!!

If you are interested in trying this product, you can search my website at www.marykay.com/sturcotte.

The primer retails for $12.00 without tax or shipping.

Julep Nellie. August It Girl

I have a new color I just received last week. It's called Nellie by Julep. I received a box from them every month with new colors. The one thing I love the most about Julep is the fact I KNOW what's coming in the box, and I can choose to change if I don't like it. I have never had a problem with anything from Julep before. If you would like to try it here is my link here. I am usually a Bombshell, but this month I picked It Girl.

Julep describes this color as a "Pink fuschia crème" and I believe they are spot on! This applied wonderfully. This is two coats worth and it covered amazing.

One thing I love to do to my photos is to leave the flaws in them. Weird, I know. I do this because lately I have been seeing a TON of manicures being taken right off the internet, with the watermark of the owner being deleted, and claiming as someone else's. Mainly the photos I seen the manicures look flawless. I try not to clean up too perfectly so I can leave those flaws, and I can definitely know if a picture is mine. PLEASE do not steal pictures and claim as your own! Not only is it not right, it's definitely an embarrassment when people get caught and it's actually not theirs when they say it is.

Avon Sequined Turquoise

I have some blue today to show. It's been a while so I am rusty a bit on my photos. I need to reword on them to get back to where I was before.

I am showing today an Avon color called Sequined Turquoise. I believe I got this around the holidays about a year or two ago. It's so beautiful in person, but I do wish I did three coats. I see some bald spots that annoy me even more now that I see in the pictures.

This is a definitely must see color in the sunlight :)

Huge Update!

I haven't been on in a long time. I ended up getting busy with work everyday in the winter, and when I was going to come back the family business caught on fire. We're trying to straighten all that out since April, but everything won't be done and built until the end of this year. So that took up a lot of my time. I also took a MUCH needed vacation to Florida (I will add a couple pictures at the end :) ) So now I am back!!

To start off I am posting a mani that I just took off today. Sorry for short nails, I didn't take care of them on vacation.

I use the base color Raegan by Julep. The ring finger I did an accent color of CG Some Like it Haute. I use the new Cheeky plates for the stamp. This specific one is the Musical Nails Jumbo Plate #5. You can find it here for the set of 5 on amazon for $45.99 plus shipping, or here for the set of 10 for $85.99 plus shipping. They even sell it as an individual plate here. The individual plate sells for $9.49 plush shipping.. I bought the two separate plates of 5 when I ordered, then the next day they came out with a full 10 set buy lol. Of course.

I of course topped it with CG Fairy Dust for the glitter. I love that polish, I'm currently less than half way done with it.

Here are a couple Florida pictures:

Enjoy!

Indie Polish!

Hey everyone, sorry it's been so long. So busy of course.

I am showing you a wonderful indie brand I have become in love with. The brand is Glitzology. I own at least 20 bottles of her polish, I love it that much.

I am showing a base color of China Glaze "Keep Calm, Paint On" from their new spring line. Then one coat of Glitzology "Princess Buttercup"

Sorry for all the pictures, but I want to show in different lighting :)

If you would like to check out her store, just click on the link here. The owner is always having sales, so keep an eye out!

I am so excited for this post today! I am showing you a full swatch of Color Club "Over the Moon" from their brand new line of 2013 Halo Hues. I wasn't sure how holographic these would be but this one blew me away. I am sooo in love with this! This will be pic heavy because I couldn't stop taking pictures (and staring at my nails). Enjoy!!

Isn't it beautiful!?

Stamping with the 2013 Color Club Halo in Eternal Beauty

Hey everyone!
I am showing a mani I just finished. I am excited to show this because I am using one of the new Color Club halo colors. It's called Eternal Beauty. The base color is Essie Where's my Chauffer. I bought my Color Clubs from Enospring.com. It came in right away! I am in love!

The plate I used is Pueen05 :)

These pictures make it look like I didn't clean up. I swear I did, but in person I can't see any of the sparkles on my cuticles and skin!

Stamping with plate Pueen23

Hey everyone!
Sorry for these one picture posts, been sick :(. Today I am showing a quick stamp with plate Pueen23. I bought these plates on amazon and I am in love. The images are a great size. I have always had a problem with plates not being big enough for my thumbs, and they seem to fit perfect!

The post yesterday here tells what the base color is.
For the stamp color I used Nina Ultra Pro in French White. It's a great white to stamp with, and I am glad I am not dishing out the money for the konad stamping color if this works just as good!

Here is the picture:

The quality of my photos are going to be a bit different. I bought the new Paint Shop Pro x5 with a gift card from Christmas, and I need to get used to the new updated version.

I hope you like this post!

Layering using an indie polish

I have a quick photo today. I decided I was finally going to use one of my Wingdust polish's I bought a couple of months ago. I do have a HUGE collection of polish so I don't get to everything right away. I have now updated my stash list (finally)

I am showing you Wing Dust Aurora Sky layered over China Glaze Liquid Leather. This polish is so beautiful and it's one you should definitely purchase!

It went on so smoothly. I did two coats of Liquid Leather to hide some bald spots, and then two layers of this beauty. I am in love! I am thinking of stamping over this tomorrow. I am on a stamping kick ;)
